The Gould Brothers Take Charge

[Added a picture of the Gould brothers just to give you a visual of the brothers]

[This is the third in a series following Marshall's Revenge and Theo's Debut.]

The Gould Brothers Take Charge

(Marshall & Theo Gould vs The Executioner & Adam)

By

The Mangler

Marshall stepped out of the shower following his run, looked in the mirror, and really liked what he saw.  He was handsome, shredded, and intelligent.  Because of his defeat by the executioner and the machinations of his brother,  he was still having to work at the wrestling gym as an "assistant" (wrestling dummy) but he had actually started to become part of the team and not just a body to be abused.  He was just slipping on his boxer briefs when the doorbell rang.  Expecting his Door Dash breakfast delivery, he walked out to the entryway still in just his briefs.  He always enjoyed others admiring his perfect body so he opened the door.

“No! You’ve got a fucking lot of nerve. Go the fuck out of here,” he said as he tried to slam the door.

A booted foot stuck itself across the threshold to prevent the door from fully closing.

“Look, I know you don’t want to see me but I am here and we need to talk.  Please.”  The interloper adopted a lost puppy look.

Marshall desperately wanted to say no but the pleading look on his brother's face won out and he opened the door and waved Theo in.  Theo always seemed to know how to get to Marshall. Theo was wearing tight-fitting clothing to also show off his muscles.

“You’ve got two minutes, then I’m throwing your sorry ass out after I beat the crap out of you, again.”

He turned and walked into the living area.

“Ok.  Look, I fucked up,” Theo began as he followed him in.

“You think?” was the sarcastic reply.  Marshall dropped down into the leather chair.  Theo sat in the chair across from him.

“Yeah, and I’m truly sorry.  But you did get your revenge and I mean I’ve always been a little jealous of you and I saw a chance to get some attention on me and away from you.  I didn’t know it would go as far as it did.”

“How the fuck could you not know?”

“I wasn’t aware of just how devious The Executioner could be.  Look, he humiliated you in the ring and I had nothing to do with that.  I admit that I had something to do with the post-match shenanigans, but I didn’t want it to go as far as it did.  Believe me, I was horrified by that as well.  I mean, come on, you are my brother and I just wanted some humbling of you. I didn’t want to ruin your life.   The Executioner set me up to be humiliated too, you know.”

“How the fuck did he set you up?  I formulated that plan and he knew nothing about it.”

“Actually, he told me, when he was laughing at me later, that he saw you enter The  Terror’s dressing room and when the Terror made his entrance he knew that you had switched places.  You are more muscularly defined than The Terror if you look closely.  So, he knew what was going to happen, but didn’t warn me and didn’t help me.  He just stood back and let it happen.  He said it was to see how good I was, but then added that he really liked the outcome.  So, The Executioner set both of the Gould brothers up.”

“Ok, saying I believe that, and I probably don’t, you still had a big part in it.  And I got my revenge so why are you here?  Why don’t you just let me get on with my life without you or the family in it and you do the same?”

"I am 100% responsible for my part and I am very sorry.  I know it was humiliating and painful, but like you said you got your revenge and I learned my lesson.   As for why I'm here, I don't want those matches to be the final legacy for the Gould Brothers.  Our legacy could be so much better and I think it is time for the Gould Brothers to take charge of their own destiny and quit relying on others."

“And how do you propose we do that?”

“We form a tag team and take out The Executioner and eliminate the Heel Faction.”

Marshall just laughed.  "Me, team up with you and 'take out The Executioner '.  Now why in the hell would I ever do that with you and as a tag team we wouldn't be able as we haven't worked together and would be uncoordinated, not able to work as a team and so be worthless.  It takes time, and trust, to be a good tag team, not just two wrestlers thrown together.  And we have neither, especially trust."

"I know, I know.  And once again, I am TRULY sorry I allowed that to happen but I miss my big brother.  That's why I propose that we go to Japan and learn to be a tag team, learn to work as one, and then come back and take them by surprise.  Over there we could hone our craft, and probably get beat up a bit, but learn to be a great and effective tag team.  Then we would be ready to come back and show the world who the Gould Brothers really are."

Despite just wanting to throw Theo out on his ear, preferably naked, Marshall had to admit that the proposition had some appeal.  He was still getting shit about his last match on social media and from strangers in public places.  No one was willing to allow him to wrestle, except for some of the questionable underground wrestling sites.  So, he sat there and actually did something he thought he would never do – think about agreeing to team up with his brother.  A chance to finally get true revenge on The Executioner was very tempting.  And growing up, The Gould Brothers had been a very formidable duo in all aspects of life.  After further discussion, Marshall finally agreed to become a tag team.

Marshall stood up and hugged Theo.  "I'm really glad you came over.  I have missed you, even while I've been pissed as hell at you."

"Oh, believe me, I know about that.  Every time I bought something new, I thought about you, and not in a good way," Theo responded and laughed.  "However, I finally realized that I had brought this on myself, so it was my responsibility to try and fix it, not knowing if that was even possible.”

"Look at you, acting all grown up.  Who would have thought it?  And had you asked me this yesterday, I would have said there was NO FUCKING WAY to fix things.  But in the end, family wins out."

“Really, FAMILY wins outs?” Theo asked as he smirked at Marshall.

Laughing, Marshall replied “Okay, brothers win out.  The parents can go to motherfucking hell.”

“Amen to that brother, amen to that” Theo replied.

At that moment Door Dash arrived so the Gould Brothers shared breakfast as they plotted out their return.

Marshall called a friend of his who was into wrestling in the far east and arranged for a coach and mentor, as well as matches in areas that wouldn’t initially draw a lot of attention. They wanted to get in some solid work before the Heel Faction became aware of them.  After hanging up the phone, Marshall turned to Theo.

“Okay, we need to be there in one week, if you can manage that.”

"Easy.  Since we are both living off our Trust funds, there isn't much to arrange," Theo said.   "So, what is our team's name going to be?"

“Oh, that’s an easy one.  No question there.  We are going to be the Gould Brothers.  We will establish our true reputations and as a big bonus, that should piss the old man off big time.”

Theo laughed, “Yea but it might make it more difficult to get back in his good graces.”

“Don’t give a flying fuck.  I’m done with the parents as they’ve made clear that they are done with us.”

“I agree brother, I agree.”

“Okay, today is the birth of the Gould Brothers,”  Theo said as he held out his hand.

Marshall looked at the outstretched hand, then took it and pulled Theo in for another close hug.

The hard work began that day, but it was also the day The Gould Brothers took charge of their lives.

The Gould Brothers spent eight months in Japan and the far east honing their tag team skills, and rebuilding their relationship, until they were a well-oiled machine.  They practiced hours a day and took as many matches as they could book.  Initially, they got their asses handed to them but took each loss as an opportunity to learn.  When they found themselves getting frustrated or overwhelmed, they reminded themselves of why they were doing this.

The only minor hiccup was Theo tended to become a hothead during tense moments in their matches causing errors.  But over time that improved, but he still had his moments, but was learning to calm down most of the time.  Their win record became impressive and they had gotten the fans on their side as well, in part because of their good looks and muscular bodies.  This was a major feat as they were a foreign team.

In the evenings, they worked on rebuilding their personal trust which turned out to be a little simpler than they thought for one very good reason.  In the end, they were brothers, and they managed to rediscover that childhood connection that had made them a formidable team and drove their parents and sister crazy.

Toward the end of their time in Japan, they started getting more famous and their success had filtered back to the UWA.  They felt it was time to go home and clean things up in the UWA.

The negotiations were both simple and complex.  The promotors of the UWA were convinced even before Marshall finished his pitch, as they had been plotting how to bring something like this about once they learned of the Gould Brothers tag team.  They immediately began planning on a larger stadium for this match.

Theo and Marshall wandered back into the dressing room covered in a sheen of sweat after a tough match against one of the major heel tag teams.  They were smiling and happy as they had won their match despite some shenanigans from the other side.  They had been together as a team for almost a year now and had solidified into one cohesive unit. The biggest change, however, was that they became closer than ever.  Their relationship had not only been repaired it had been improved.

“Damn, that was one fucking tough match,” Theo said as he slumped to the bench beside Marshall winching as he did so.

“Amen to that. They are one of the top tag teams and the outside interference didn’t help, but we bested them because we ARE THE GOULD BROTHERS,” Marshall yelled as the two brothers stood up and chest bumped.

Marshall heard the notification on his phone ding so, he picked it up.

“The Executioner has finally agreed to a tag team match.  However, they say they want a no holds barred, anything, anywhere type match.”

Theo looked at Marshall.  “Why would we agree to that?  I mean I think we could take them, but that definitely sets the bar in their favor as it plays into their strengths.”

Marshall responded, “I agree.  They state, and I quote, “if they are too chicken shit for a real man’s match,” then they propose a standard tag team match but each team gets a manager at ringside.”

“You know that just means more outside interference, right?  And they are good at that,” Theo responded.

“Yeah, but we also have someone to help us, to be an extra set of eyes, and to help keep things in control, so I don’t have a strong disagreement with that.”

Theo asked, "Yeah, but who do we get for our manager?  It has to be someone who can wrestle and take care of himself."

Marshall looked at Theo and smirked.  "Do you think Wiley would do it?  He HATES the heel faction and while not a great fan of mine, we have been getting on better recently.  A chance to see the heels get taken down would go a long way toward getting over his dislike for me.  After all, that is why he recruited me to the league."

Theo looked over.  "I think that would be perfect.  Why don't you let me approach him?  He would probably at least talk to me.  And after his last match with the Heel Faction, he should be amenable."

“That would work,” Marshall replied.  “And you can be persuasive as hell when you want to, So do it.”

The next area of contention was the referee.  The Gould Brothers really didn’t trust using anyone from the UWA because of concerns of threats or intimidation from the Heel Faction.  It was agreed that the promoters would bring in a good quality ref from another league, one that had no beef with either team.   He would be made known to the teams just before their match so there could be no shenanigans.

The promotors decided on Ash, a top-ranked ref from a rival league so that he had no baggage with any of the wrestlers.   Ash was only 5'8 and 170 pounds but he was wiry and tough but not overly cut, and he was a particularly good boxer.  He demanded respect from all wrestlers and he got it. Both teams were aware of him and pleased with the choice.

As he toweled off after his shower, Marshall’s muscles were shown in motion and were very toned.

“Damned bro, I think your muscles have gotten even larger and more toned,” Theo said as he looked at Marshall.  He then did a double bicep pose, “But then again so have mine.  The Gould Brothers are fucking muscle GODS.”

Marshall just laughed as he nodded his head.  He dropped the towel and headed, naked, over to his locker when he received another notification on his phone. "Okay, we are set with the managers, most of the rules, and an outside ref.  Now they were asking for a pin-only match, no submissions, but the promoters said no.  It is to be a pin, submission, count out, or disqualification match. ”

Theo chuckled.  “Yeah, I would think so, after the last match where the heels beat up Wiley and refused to pin him just to show how sadistic they could be.”

“I smell a rat here,” Marshall stated.

"What do you mean," Theo asked.

“Remember my match against Midnight, when he and the ref said I submitted, but I hadn’t?  That cost me a good chunk of change for losing.  I know the ref said that he heard a submission, but I know he was paid off.  I wouldn’t put it past the Heels to try something like that.  ”

“Yeah, and I heard that Midnight just joined their faction, so he would suggest that tactic and it’s something they would definitely do.  So how do we stop that from happening?”

Marshall sat on the bench and looked like he went into a coma as he sat still and stared straight ahead.

“GOT IT,” he screamed, causing Theo to jump.

“What?”

“If there is a claim of a submission, the partner, or manager, outside the ring has to agree to allow the match to stop.  That way we can’t be blindsided by a biased ref and everyone will know that the submission was legitimate.”

"Hmm," Theo responded as he thought about it.  "I like it.  Insist on it and we should be good to sign the contract unless we can think of any other antics they might pull?"  After mulling it over for a day, they felt they had all concerns taken care of and presented their final terms to the UWA.

After some back and forth, and minor changes, The Heel Faction accepted the terms.  Now only one stipulation to iron out – the stakes for losing the match. The Heel Faction demanded 200,000 dollars if they won and a public acknowledgment that they were the better team.  The Executioner felt this was owed to him, with interest, after Marshall had wrestled without his consent and conned his way out of the fine.  The Gould brothers demanded that the Heel Faction would disband and that The Executioner would leave wrestling altogether.  Both Teams agreed to the rules.

The promoters managed to rent a very large stadium and promoted the hell out of the match.  They made sure to post all the videos of Marshall, Theo, and the Heel Faction to remind the fans of the events leading up to the match.  They quickly sold out of all tickets, including the uber-expensive skyboxes.  They thought about doing a PPV-type event as well, but both teams refused to agree to that. In reality, the Heel Faction would have been fine with it, but when they heard that the Goulds did not like the idea they readily agreed to get the event going.

While The Executioner preferred to work alone and he wanted to get his hands on Marshall in particular, who he felt still owed him some money,  he would be okay with beating on both of the Gould brothers.  He knew exactly who he wanted for his partner as they had worked together before in other leagues.   He chose Adam "Opie" Grant, a newer member of the Heel Faction, so named because he looked somewhat like the all-American boy, Opie, from the Andy Griffith show.  He was anything but. He loved a good brawl and used almost any tactic to win.  His personal catchphrase was "Winning isn't everything, it is the ONLY thing.  And any tactic is fair as long as they raise my hand."

The lights dimmed as the last victim of the Heel Faction was helped out of the ring and up the aisle.  Marshall and Theo stood just behind the curtains waiting for their intro.  Marshall turned and looked at Theo.  The two brothers stepped forward and locked on a tight hug.

“Time to take charge,” Theo said.

“Damned straight, bro, Damned straight” was Marshall’s response.  As they released the embrace, they heard the announcer start his spiel.

“And now for our main event.  Entering the ring first, and looking for a little payback, we haaavvee The Gould Brothers.  The curtain opened and the two brothers walked out.  “First we have Marshall, who is no doubt excited to be here and has been looking forward to coming here again for a long time. He is followed by his younger, and smaller brother, Theo.  Hope he has avoided any cold showers before the match.”

The two brothers shot annoyed looks in the announcer's direction and gave him the double-handed one-finger salute.  The crowd laughed at the obvious references to the brothers' last individual matches but the audience had mixed views on the brothers so both cheers and boos were heard.  Many fans had found online videos of their overseas matches and were impressed.  The brothers were super pumped for the match.

Marshall stood 5'11" tall, weighed 200 pounds, had 4% body fat, and shredded so that you could almost see every muscle fiber.  His abs were an 8 pack and rock hard.  His blonde hair had been cut into a military buzz which gave him a very severe look.  His deep blue eyes seemed to look right through you.  He completely ignored the crowd.

Theo stood 5'10" tall, weighed 195 pounds, had 10% body fat, and defined musculature, although not quite as ripped as Marshall.  His darker hair was shaved on the side and faded into a short crop on top.  His eyes were also deep blue and even if you didn't know they were brothers, just the eyes would give it away.  He too ignored the taunts from the crowd.

“Time to take charge,” Theo yelled at Marshall as he slapped him on the back.

“Damn straight, brother,” was Marshall’s response.

"And here is their manager for tonight,"  as the curtain opened again and out walked Wiley, a muscular 6' 180-pound "face".   "As you will recall, he makes an excellent punching bag."  Once again the crowd laughed but then hardily applauded him as he was well-liked.  He had been good friends with Marshall as he had brought him into the league but had been very hostile to  Marshall after his humiliating beating by The Executioner, but agreed that teaching the assholes a lesson and ridding the UWA of them, was more important than their past disagreements.  He had flown over to manage in the last few matches the Gould brothers had overseas and many of the past grievances were forgiven so they presented a united front.

The brothers walked down to the ring studiously ignoring the crowd.  They didn't want any distractions. They entered the ring by hopping on the apron, leaping to the top rope, and somersaulting into the ring landing on their feet and throwing their hands in the air.  The ref, Ash, waved them towards their corner where they high-fived each other and stood waiting for the Heels. They generally received applause but a lot of boos and insults were heard as well.

The brothers were wearing square-cut wrestling trunks which were half gold and half silver with the colors being opposite on each pair of trunks.  They wore black knee pads and wrestling boots.

“And their opponents for tonight’s match, from the Heel Faction, we have The Executioner and Adam Whale.”

The Executioner, a 6’ tall, 225-pound bear of a man walked out first.  His body was covered with a layer of hair and he had a small beer gut.  He looked soft, but under that softness was tight musculature and great athletic ability.

“As you will recall, The Executioner is an expert at giving his opponents pleasure as he beats them.”

Adam, 5’ 8” and 185 pounds of muscle, walked out behind him.

“Well Adam is sorta new to us, so we don’t know what his specialty is going to be.”

The crowd started out booing but that had changed to cheering by the time the wrestlers reached the ring for each one was carrying a large poster. The Executioner had a picture of Marshall ejaculating in the ring, from their first match.  Adam Whale's picture was of Theo naked, and tied in the ropes from his match against Marshall.  A big red circle had been drawn around his genitals with arrows to point out his small cock.

“And their manager for tonight is Byron.”  This announcement was met with almost silence as the crowd wasn’t sure who this was, but then the curtain opened and Byron walked out.  The crowd went crazy, laughing and cheering.  Byron was dressed as a referee, which he was.  He had refed the first match between The Executioner and Marshall.  He had been horrified by Marshall’s action during the ring action and so had volunteered to be the manager.

As they approached the ring, they handed the pictures to fans in the front row who were wearing Heel Faction clothing.  The fans made sure to enthusiastically wave the signs.  The heels then slid under the ropes.  At the same time, both managers also climbed into the ring.

Marshall and Theo were not happy when they saw the posters so they were ready to attack as soon as the Heel Faction entered the ring.  However, the ref approached them.

"ANY action before the match begins and I disqualify you.  We are going to start this fiasco out correctly.  And that goes for you as well," Ash yelled over to the Heel Faction who raised their hands as if to say, "Who us."

Ash then moved to the middle of the ring and repeated, “No action before the bell or it’s over.  And you all lose out on the fun you were expecting.”

All the men in the ring muttered but cooperated.  The ref then turned to Byron.  “Lose the striped shirt buddy.”

"Why should I do that?  I've earned this shirt."

“TAKE. IT. OFF.  There will be no confusion about who is in charge here today and I am going to be the only one in ref’s attire.”  The look the ref gave to Byron left him no choice but for Byron to obey.

Byron looked out at the crowd and slowly lifted his shirt up, showing washboard abs that compared favorably with Marshalls.  A large gasp came from the crowd because, with his loose-fitting ref's jersey, no one expected that.  He continued to slowly pull up the shirt and the crowd could see his "treasure tail" leading up to a hair-covered chest with exceptionally well-defined pecs.

All the wrestlers were watching the slow removal of the shirt when the bell rang to start the match.  The heels, who were ready for this, charged across the ring toward the Gould Brothers.  Because the brothers had been watching Byron, they weren't prepared for the two heels.  As they turned toward the sound of their opponents charging, they were both met with football-style kicks straight to their balls.

They both "woofed" as the pain exploded and dropped their hands to their crotches.  The Executioner and Adam followed up by pulling both wrestlers into reverse headlocks and then DDTed them to the mat.  They quickly regained their feet and Adam rolled Theo out of the ring while The Executioner delivered a spinning kick to the head of Wiley, knocking him over the top rope and to the floor.  They both then began to rain down stomps and kicks onto Marshall.  Byron simply continued with his strip tease, easing the shirt over his head and tossing it into the crowd.  Everyone was appreciative of the view.

The ref ran over to the heels when they started stomping and kicking.

“Break it up.  Stop.  I should disqualify you both.”

The Executioner then got into the ref’s face.  “Bullshit.  We waited until the bell so we didn’t violate any of your rules.”

“Well, you’re double teaming, so one of you needs to get out of the ring,” the ref responded as he pushed The Executioner back toward his corner.

Adam continued with his attack on Marshall when Byron walked over.  He and Adam lifted Marshall up and then dropped him down abs first into a double knee.  They slide Theo onto Byron's knee, before rolling him over on his back onto Adam's knee.  Adam pushed down on the chin and the thighs, stretching Marshall in the backbreaker.  Byron looked over and saw that the ref almost had The Executioner out of the ring.  Before standing he delivered a closed fist into Marshall's balls, before slipping under the ropes.

When the ref turned around, he saw Marshall locked in an over-the-knee backbreaker and Byron walking back to the heel corner, where he gave The Executioner a fist bump. Their plan had worked perfectly.  They had decided who was going to start the match for the Gould Brothers and had gotten the advantage.  As a bonus, a couple of nut shots were delivered to Marshall.

Tiring of the hold, Adam rolled Marshall off his knee and face down onto the mat.  He delivered a series of three knee drops to the lower back before pulling Marshall up and slinging him back first into the heel corner.  He then charged intending to squash Marshall between him and the turnbuckle, but at the last second Marshall, rolled along the rope leaving Adam to slam into the turnbuckle.  When he hit the post, The Executioner tagged himself into the match but did not enter the ring.

Marshall had rolled along the ropes and was just pushing himself off the ropes, when The Executioner grabbed his right wrist and jumped from the ring apron to the floor, holding on. This caused Marshall’s armpit to slam into the top rope causing pain all the way up to his shoulder.  The Executioner released the wrist and Marshall backed away from the ropes toward the center of the ring.

Marshall quickly glanced to his corner where he saw Theo pulling himself back up onto the ring apron with Wiley slowly standing up behind him. The Executioner entered the ring where he dropped his chest down to the mat and challenged Marshall to an arm-wrestling competition.  Marshall looked around "What the hell."

When he didn't immediately accept, the crowd started shouting "Pussy, Pussy, Pussy."  Marshall shrugged and dropped down onto the mat.  He made sure they were in the dead center of the ring.  The two wrestlers locked hands and began to push.  Both put maximum effort into the hold.

It looked as if Marshall was starting to gain an advantage until the boot of Adam slammed down into his flexed bicep shooting pain up his arm and allowing The Executioner to slam his arm to the mat.

Seeing Adam entering the ring, Theo followed suit but was slightly slower so he could not stop the interference.  He did, however, manage to deliver a forearm blow to the chest forcing Adam backward.

The ref was over immediately screaming at both wrestlers to leave the ring.  Adam threw his hands up and began to back away.  Theo followed him causing the ref to get in front of him and start pushing him backward.  Once the ref turned away, Adam ran across the ring and delivered a knee into Marshall’s lower back.

Hearing the commotion, the ref turned as Adam was getting back up.  The ref took one step toward him, but Adam dropped down and rolled under the rope.  The ref then turned to make sure that Theo had left the ring.  He was in the process of doing so.

After Adam's knee, The Executioner jumped on Marshall's back, grabbed his legs, and locked them under his armpit, placing Marshall in a textbook Boston crab.  He tried to bend Marshall as much as possible.

Marshall began to muster his strength as he managed to raise to his forearms trying to flip The Executioner off him.  When The Executioner thought he might be successful, he slammed the edge of one hand down into Marshall’s balls, eliciting a loud groan and causing Marshall to fall back to the mat.

“Watch the fucking low blows, ref,” Theo screamed from the corner

“I didn’t see a low blow,” he said.

“That’s because you are useless and blind,” Theo screamed.

As the ref walked to the corner to berate Theo,  The Executioner proceeded to administer two more low blows before dropping the legs.

“Come on ref, watch the action,” Wiley screamed from the floor.

Ash turned toward the action, where he saw The Executioner dropping the hold and standing up.  There was nothing obviously illegal happening at the moment.  The Executioner grabbed an ankle, bent the lower leg up at the knee, placed his foot into the hollow at the back of the knee, pulled the leg up, and slammed it back down into the mat.  He did this several times before Marshall was able to break free and roll to the side.

The Executioner picked Marshall up, grabbed him by the arm and the back of the head, and charged across the ring, throwing Marshall between the first and second ropes. He landed on the stadium floor on the opposite side of the ring from his manager and his partner.  The Executioner turned toward the opponent's corner where he charged and delivered a forearm smash to Theo knocking him off the apron.

Theo immediately tried getting into the ring while Wiley screamed at the ref.  The ref was busy pushing The Executioner back.

As soon as Marshall had hit the ground and The Executioner had turned to the other corner, Adam dropped from the ring apron, delivered two stomps into the right knee, and began to place a figure four lock on the knee.  As Marshall began to counter, he was met with a leg drop from Byron across the chest.  This allowed Adam to lock the hold in place.  Byron scooted around and locked on a figure four-head scissor.  Both applied as much pressure as they could by placing their hands behind them and lifting up.

It took a couple of minutes for the ref to get Theo out of the ring and The Executioner back toward his own corner.  He then walked over and saw Marshall laying on the floor rocking back in forth in pain.  Adam was in his corner and Byron was standing near the ring post studying his fingernails.  The ref wasn’t fooled, but there was nothing he could do.

The Executioner tagged Adam to make him the legal man. Adam leaped from the apron landing both feet into Marshall’s stomach, forcing all the air from his lungs and causing him to try to double up.

"Get the action back in the ring," the ref yelled as he began his count.  Adam pulled Marshall to his feet and rammed him abs first into the ring edge forcing his upper body flat on the mat.  The Executioner, who had not left the ring, dropped a leg drop across the back of Marshall's head before he pulled him back into the ring.  He then lifted him in preparation for a suplex.

Seeing the illegal man in the ring, Theo went through the ropes and toward the action screaming at the ref as he did.   However, he was met by the ref and forced back to his corner.  His cries of illegal man and what was happening were falling on deaf ears.

Instead of dropping back into a suplex, The Executioner fell forward, dropping Marshall onto the mat face down – a reverse suplex.  As soon as he hit the mat, The Executioner rolled Marshall to his back, so that his abs were met by both feet of Adam as he came off the ropes again.  Marshall’s rock-hard abs were getting a workover.  The Executioner left the ring under the bottom rope.

Adam pulled Marshall to the center of the ring where he applied with a figure four leg lock.  He held this hold until he felt some damage had been done.  He released the hold, stood, and delivered several kicks to the painful right knee.  He then stood back and waited until Marshall was on his feet.  Marshall was favoring his right knee.

Adam slowly approached his opponent who at the last second delivered a standing drop kick forcing Adam back into a neutral corner.  While Marshall had felt the pain in his knee, it did give him enough time to make for his corner and a possible tag with Theo.  Marshall made a leap to his corner and just as the tag was about to be made, Theo went flying backward off the ring apron.  Theo had been so intent on making the tag that he failed to notice Adam tee up a spinning kick to his head before the tag could be made.

Marshall slammed his fist into the mat twice from frustration.  He felt himself being pulled up and then snapmared back into the middle of the ring, where Adam locked on a rear chin lock.

“Now that was rude.  We aren’t through playing yet,” he growled into Marshall’s ear.

Meanwhile, Theo had regained the apron and was screaming and yelling at his opponents and the ref.  He started to duck between the ropes, but Ash came over to stop him.  When Adam heard Ash berating Theo, he dropped the chin lock and locked on a figure four leg lock.

Seeing the ref was still occupied and not paying attention, Adam reached back and grabbed The Executioner’s hands.  He then applied even more pressure to Marshall’s knee who was slapping the mat in pain and frustration.  They dropped their hands when they saw Ash turn back to the action.

Adam reached up and slapped The Executioner’s hand signaling a tag, however he did not immediately release the hold.  The Executioner entered the ring and did a splash drop onto the tangled legs of the two wrestlers multiplying the pain in Marshall’s knee.

Ash began to berate the two wrestlers so Adam released the hold and rolled out of the ring.  The Executioner rolled Marshall to his stomach, placed his foot behind the right knee, and then lifted and slammed it back into the mat several times before releasing the leg and standing back.

Marshall used the ropes to pull himself up, but it was obvious he was having problems with his knee and mobility.  He and The Executioner locked up in a collar and elbow and The Executioner pushed with all his strength.  Due to the pain in his knee, Marshall was not able to adequately set the leg and fell backward right into the heel’s corner.  Adam, outside the ring, locked his arm around Marshall’s throat and began a choke. This caused Marshall to release his hold on The Executioner, who dropped his head and shoulder and slammed two shoulder blocks into the abs.

“Release the goddamn fucking choke, Adam,” the ref yelled as he began counting.  Adam dropped the hold and moved down the ring apron with his hands in the air.  Ash then turned back to the corner getting between Marshall and The Executioner pushing him back into the center of the ring.

“Watch the double-teaming and the in-corner work,” Ash said as he pushed The Executioner back.

“Yeah, okay.  Sorry just got carried away,” The Executioner smirked.

Before the ref had turned back toward the corner, Adam had delivered a leg kick to the back of Marshall's head, forcing him forward into the ring.  Unfortunately, Byron was holding him by the ankles, so he went head-first into the mat.  Then using the old tried and true, Byron yanked him back balls first into the ring post, eliciting a scream. Hearing the scream, Ash started to turn toward the corner. However, tiring of the double-teaming action, Theo leaped into the ring and hit The Executioner on the back of the head.  The two then began exchanging blows while Ash tried to break it up and get Theo out of the ring.

Seeing what was happening Byron put both his feet up on the ring post and leaned back pulling with all his might on the ankles so that Marshall's balls were getting crushed between his pelvis and the ring post.

Realizing what was happening in the heel’s corner, Wiley began running over to that corner.  As he was about halfway there, Adam leaped from the ring apron delivering an elbow to the top of Wiley’s head.

That dropped Wiley to the floor.  Adam grabbed him by the ankles and drug him back to his side of the ring.  He kicked him in the balls before returning to his side of the ring.

By this time, Ash had regained some control but was still working on getting Theo out of the ring.  As The Executioner kept verbally taunting Theo, Adam went back to his corner, signaled to Byron who dropped the ankles, then reached under and pulled Marshall out of the ring.  He stood him up, grabbed an arm, and slung him, abs first, into the metal railing dividing the crowd from the ring.

The fans in that area started laughing and taunting Marshall for his lack of athletic ability.  Adam pulled Marshall from the railing, grabbed behind the head, and then charged Marshall back to the ring, slamming his head into the ring post.  Marshall staggered back, almost falling because of his knee, with his hands going to his head.  Adam reached out, grabbed a wrist, and then threw Marshall in a circle letting go so that Marshall slammed abs first into the ring apron.

He then forced Marshall back under the ropes and into the ring where he just lay there.  The Executioner turned back to his corner grabbed Marshall by the right wrist, stretched it out, and began dropping knee drops into the exposed biceps. He had done this several times before Ash returned to the action having finally gotten Theo out of the ring.

The Executioner reached up and tagged Adam, in full view of the ref, who leaped to the top rope and then come off landing with both feet onto Marshall's bicep.  The Executioner slid under the ring rope while Adam grabbed Marshall's arm and pulled it out.  He then tagged The Executioner who leaped to the top rope and off down onto the bicep.  This was done three more times.  The bicep was becoming soft.  Adam pulled Marshall to his feet and locked the right arm behind his back.  Adam then grabbed the wrist and the elbow lifting Marshall off his feet with his weight concentrated on the right shoulder.  He let out a small scream.

Knowing he couldn’t hold the wriggling wrestler for long, Adam then dropped him onto the mat with most of his weight landing on his injured shoulder and bicep.  A very loud moan was heard from Marshall who tried to move his right arm but was only able to do so very slowly.

Through the pain and the fog, Marshall did hear someone screaming "Tag me, tag me."  He looked up and realized that he was near his corner so he stretched out his left hand and made a tag with Theo who leapt over the top rope and into the ring where he was immediately met by Ash.

“Get the fuck out of the ring,” Ash yelled.

"What, we made a tag," Theo screamed as he tried to sidestep the ref and use his hands to indicate a tag had been made.

Ash stepped right along with him, put his hands on the chest, and said "I didn't see a tag, so out of the ring."  He then pushed Theo back.  This only enraged Theo so he continued to argue with the ref.

A very frustrated Theo tried to argue but eventually realized that he had no choice so he returned to his corner.

Indeed, Ash had not seen the tag, because The Executioner, having realized that Adam had dropped Marshall too close to his corner, had slid under the rope into the ring making a large amount of noise as he did so.  Ash turned to force him out of the ring and so he missed the tag.

As Theo and Ash were arguing, Adam rushed over, grabbed Marshall by the ankles, and pulled him back toward his corner.  He pulled Marshall to his feet, grabbed his right wrist, and handed it over the top rope to the executioner, who proceeded to slam the armpit into the top of the ring post multiple times.  This transferred the energy into Marshall's already softened-up shoulder.  As Ash started to turn back to the action, The Executioner released the wrist, Adam grabbed it and dropped down, and locked an armbar on the right arm, cranking up the pressure as much as possible.

Adam released the armbar, dragged Marshall to his feet, and applied a standing twisting arm bar.  Once he had the hold locked on tight, Adam began delivering a series of toe kicks into the armpit.  Each time the kick hit, Marshal was lifted slightly off his feet.

Tiring of this, Adam picked Marshall up and delivered a body slam with the right arm trapped behind his back, making sure that Marshall was near Adam’s corner.  He then dropped down onto Marshall’s chest and applied an open choke.  The ref was immediately on him demanding that he break the hold twice before he began his count.

Adam released the choke and stood up and backed up from Marshall.  Ash followed to warn Adam about his illegal moves.  Seeing his chance, Byron reached under the rope, grabbed the right arm, and slammed Marshall's upper arm into the ring edge several times in a pump-handle fashion.

Seeing the blatant double-teaming, Theo again entered the ring to help Marshall.  Unfortunately, Ash was facing that way and saw him enter the ring so he went to force him out.  A war of words broke out between the ref and Theo.

In the heel corner, Marshall was pulled up and had his right arm placed across the top of the ring post, with the post jammed up into the armpit.  Byron grabbed the right wrist from the floor and was hanging from the arm.  The Executioner was slamming fists and chops into the shoulder, while Adam was delivering kicks to the abs. He was being worked over by all three men without pause.

Wiley charged around the corner to stop the triple teaming, but Byron saw him coming, so he dropped the wrist and met Wiley halfway down the ring.  Wiley threw a punch, but Byron ducked it and delivered a short hard jab right into the solar plexus.  Wiley felt as if a bus had hit him.  He stepped back and tried to get his breath but Byron continued the attack by grabbing him by the hair and ramming his head into the neutral ring post.  Wiley dropped to the ground where Byron kicked him once then walked back to his corner.

By this time, Ash had gotten Theo out of the ring and turned back toward the action.  Adam was just pulling Marshall out of the corner, snapmared him to the canvas, and dropped down locking on a Camel clutch.  Marshall was stretched out and moaned.

Adam noticed some movement over by the neutral ring post so he diverted his eyes over there.  Seeing that it was only Wiley getting up and returning to his side of the ring, Adam dismissed him as not a threat.  He dropped Marshall to the mat and delivered a series of stomps to the back.

He then made the perineal wrestling error and preened around the ring showboating for the crowd.  As he approached Marshall, he was very surprised when Marshall shot his leg up connecting with Adam’s balls.  Adam’s hands went to his crotch as he stepped back and dropped down on his ass.  Ash was out of position and did not see the kick to the balls, although he suspected that was what had happened.

Marshall managed to roll over, get to his knees, and leaped toward his corner where he made a tag with Theo.  He then dropped down face-first to the mat.  Theo leaped over the top rope and charged at Adam, but was once again interrupted when Ash grabbed him around the waist and threw him back toward his corner.

“What the fuck,” he screamed at the ref.  “We made the tag.”

“Marshall is the legal man in the ring, not you.”

"We made a goddamned fucking tag you moron,"  Theo emphasized this by slapping his palms together imitating a tag.  "That means I'm the legal man," Theo bellowed as he tried to push by the ref.

“You weren’t in your corner and you weren’t holding the tag rope, so your tag wasn’t legal,” Ash informed him and he kept pushing him back toward his corner.

Theo was in a blind rage at this point.  “What the fuck?  Nobody ever calls that bullshit,” Theo continued to argue.

"Well, in our league we do and they got me to ref so I do call it.  And this match was agreed to 'be by the book'.  So, no legal tag, and get out of the ring."

Theo cursed a blue streak as he exited the ring.  He then grabbed the tag rope making sure to show it to the ref.  He then reached over to re-tag Marshall who was just lying on the mat.

“Come on Marshall, tag me, tag me.”

Marshall was somewhat confused as he had just tagged him, but reached up to tag him again only to hit empty air.

While the ref and Theo had been arguing, The Executioner had left his corner and headed toward Wiley where they engaged in a shouting match with some ineffectual punches shown.  Byron had ducked down and crawled along the other side of the ring until he was near the opponent's corner.  When Theo had returned to his corner and reached over for the tag, Byron had pulled him off the ring apron onto the floor so Marshall had no one to tag. As he slid off the ring apron, Theo's chin slammed into it.  Adam spun the dazed Theo around and delivered a forearm shot across the chest, dropping Theo to the floor.  Byron then strutted back to his side of the ring smiling and playing it up to the audience.

The Executioner then disengaged from Wiley and backed into his corner as well.

While his partner and manager were distracting the other opponents, Adam had regained his feet, walked over to Marshall still lying face down on the mat, kicked his legs apart, and delivered a punt kick straight into his balls.

“Like the bible says, balls for balls, bitch,” Adam screamed.  He then reached down and grabbed Marshall by the back of his trunks and pulled him back toward his corner. This pulled his trunks down over his ass cheeks eliciting a strong cheer of mockery from the crowd.

"Hey watch the low blows," Ash scolded, but did nothing to stop Adam from dragging Marshall away from his corner.  Once Theo regained the ring apron, Marshall was out of range.  That didn't stop Theo from hurling a string of insults and curses toward the ref, as well as questioning Ash's lineage.  He slammed the top rope with his hand several times in frustration as he was unable to help his partner even when legally tagged in.

Adam pulled Marshall up and slung him back first into Adam’s corner.  As soon as his back hit the turnbuckle, The Executioner locked an arm around his head and pulled back.  Adam charged in with several kicks to the abs.  Ash forced The Executioner to release his hold, but as soon as he did Adam began his assault on the abs again.

Ash was finally able to separate Adam and Marshall and began to read the riot act to him and The Executioner who had walked about mid-way down the ring ropes.   Appreciating the perfect opportunity, Byron leaped to the apron, wrapped the tag rope around Marshall's throat, and dropped to the floor, hanging from the other end.  Marshall began struggling trying to get a breath in and get free.

Seeing the blatant choke, Theo charged into the ring and toward the opponent's corner.  However, Adam had seen him coming and delivered a roundhouse kick to the upper chest forcing Theo back.  As he fell backward, Ash was immediately on top of him forcing him back out of the ring.   Ash ignored Theo's claims of choking and outside interference.  Once on the ring apron, Theo slammed his hand down onto the top rope with frustration.  His face was almost purple.

Wiley had also seen the chocking by Byron and had charged around the side of the ring toward him.  But as soon as Adam had kicked Theo and the ref turned in that direction, The Executioner had dropped to the floor and charged around the ring post, and delivered a flying drop kick to Wiley, knocking him back toward his side of the ring and knocking him to the floor.

Byron held the choke until he saw Ash start to turn back toward the action.  He dropped the tag rope and stepped back from the ring.  As soon as the choke lessened, Marshall was able to pull the tag rope away from his throat, so that as Ash turned all he saw was a blue-faced Marshall dropping to the canvas in the corner gasping for air.

Adam stepped in, pulled Marshall to his feet, and tagged in his partner. He then locked on a full nelson while The Executioner delivered a series of kicks into the abs.  At the ref's admonition, Adam released the hold and exited the ring.

No sooner had Adam exited the ring, than The Executioner tagged him back in as he grabbed Marshall lifted him up, and dropped him in a reverse atomic drop.  As Marshall hit the outstretched knee, he gagged and raised up and stepped forward where he was met with a right fist to the jaw.  He dropped like a dead weight to the mat.

Everyone simply ignored the ref's yelling about the double-teaming and the closed fist.  As The Executioner left the ring Adam pulled an almost deadweight Marshall to his feet.  Adam hooked one hand in the waistband of Marshall's trunk at the back and the other hand around the posterior neck.  He then charged Marshall across the ring and threw a ragged Marshall between the top and middle ropes.  However, Marshall was still ring aware and was able to hook his right arm up around the top rope stopping him from sailing out of the ring.  He then straightened up and rolled down the rope where he tagged Theo.  Theo leaped over the top rope and into the ring facing Adam who slowly backed up.  The two wrestlers just looked at each other while Marshall made his way out of the ring and to his corner.  He was barely able to stand and was sucking great amounts of air.  Wiley was shouting words of encouragement to Marshall.

Adam and Theo locked into a  collar and elbow and began jockeying for position.  Adam kept an eye on his surroundings and when he had Theo turned with his back to his own corner, Adam drove forward, placed a foot behind Theo's ankle, and released the collar and elbow.  Theo fell backward toward the ring ropes while wheeling his arms to try and maintain balance.  When his back hit the ropes, his left-hand slapped Marshall's hand as it was sitting on the top rope.

Ash yelled, “Tag, Marshall is the legal man.”

"What?? That wasn't a tag, that was an accident,"  Theo began to protest but the ref didn't care.  Wiley jumped up on the ring apron screaming at the ref that no tag had occurred.  Adam took advantage of the confusion,  walked over to the corner, grabbed Marshall by the head, and flipped him over the top rope and back into the ring.  As soon as Marshall hit the mat, Adam dropped a knee drop directly into the abs near the belly button causing Marshall to try and double up.  He grabbed an ankle and pulled Marshall back toward The Executioner.  Once he was in range, Adam turned and charged toward Theo who was still in the ring arguing with the ref.  Ash tried to step between the two wrestlers who were throwing mostly ineffectual punches at each other.  Wiley was still standing on the ring apron yelling and screaming.

Taking advantage of the pandemonium in the ring, The Executioner dropped to the stadium floor, reached under the bottom rope, and drug Marshall out of the ring.  He picked him up and delivered an atomic drop, but instead of the knee, The Executioner dropped him on one of the barriers.  Marshall made a strange gurgling sound as he hit. He rolled off the barrier to the floor.

Byron pulled Marshall to his feet, turned the two back-to-back, looped each of his arms around Marshall's, and leaned forward.  He reached down and grabbed each of Marshall's ankles and locked them to his waist.  He had Marshall stretched out and The Executioner took advantage and used Marshall as his speed bag firing rapid-fire fists into the weakening ab muscles.

Wiley finally realized what was happening across the ring, dropped from the apron, and started around the ring.  The Executioner saw him coming and went to meet him. The two wrestlers just stood and looked at each other with their fists up.

As The Executioner was leaving, Byron dropped Marshall to the floor.  He pulled him back up, ran his head into the corner post, and then threw him back under the ropes and into the ring.

Adam, out of the corner of his eye, saw Marshall being put back into the ring so he backed off of Theo and went over to Marshall, rolled him to his chest, and slammed his head into the mat several times.

Ash had finally gotten Theo out of the ring.  Wiley, seeing Marshall back in the ring had retreated to his side of the ring, and The Executioner resumed the ring apron in his corner.  Byron was flexing, posing, and mugging for the crowd to a great deal of cheering.

Adam pulled Marshall to his feet with a lot of difficulty.  Marshall seemed to be out of it. Adam placed his right hand behind Marshall's head and used it as he guided him across the ring towards the rope on his and Theo's side of the ring.  As he neared the ropes, he pushed down on Marshall's head preparing him to be tossed out of the ring.  To Adam's great surprise, Marshall dropped completely down to the ring floor and rolled toward Theo in the corner stretching his hand out as he went.  As soon as Theo and his hand smacked together, signaling the tag,  Theo hopped over the top rope, fists ready to go.

  1. I am on pins and needles after that cliffhanger ending. Love the chaos of a tag match - who's the legal man, who's distracting the ref, who's been colluding... even better when there's a team who won't play by the rules and readily double teams their opponents. Can't wait for part 2 to find out how this ends... there's a lot on the line. Part of me wants the Gould Bros to notch up a win and end the Heel Faction's reign of terror... but part of me wants them to be utterly squashed like the jobbers they're destined to be. Hopefully that $200K isn't the full balance of their trust funds! See you next week at the UWA Arena!

  2. Glad you like it so far. I LOVE a tag match, but they are a bitch to write. But the opportunities for mischief, mayhem and comebacks are so many. And, yes, trying to figure out which way to go can be challenging. I made this a two parter because of how long it was. Not sure that was "fair", but I am the Mangler after all and "fair" isn't exactly my genre!! How you enjoy the next part.

  3. Appreciate the visual aid! These are the two wrestlers I had imagined as Marshall (https://i.imgur.com/Qa2zUmE.jpeg) and Theo (https://i.imgur.com/F1fKXQn.jpeg) - looks like I wasn't too far off!
