JWSA Event 2, Intro Match 1 & 2

JSWA Night # 2

Night # 2  Introduction

After enduring all he had at JSWA's opening night, Ty walked back to his dorm with just under three hundred dollars in his pocket - almost enough to fully cover the books he needed. Jimmy hadn't made out quite as well, but what he'd made would help. Still, as they drove with Eric back to campus that night, Jimmy wouldn't shut up about his arm. Ty knew Jimmy wouldn't be back to JSWA in two weeks. So, he resolved to find someone else to join him. In this, he would have little trouble.

Within days of the event, Eric had filled in most of the freshman mentors, and the word had spread through pre-class campus, to the football team in pre-semester practice, to the students finishing summer classes, and finally to the rest of the new freshmen. As Ty sat eating a very quiet lunch with Jimmy in the dining hall that Wednesday, a smallish boy with brown hair sat down. Dane, also at the table, but not as happy about the tales of his performance spreading around, pushed a chair out for the kid. Over lunch, Benji introduced himself, told them how he'd wanted to wrestle since he was eight, and invited himself along with Ty and Dane the next time. Both were skeptical about how small Benji looked, but it was Jimmy who said something.

"Are you crazy? Did you HEAR what they did to us?" He asked, astounded that someone even smaller than him would hit that ring.

"Yeah, that sounds great. Even if I lose, it's cool that I can at least TRY not to. And whatever, rookies have to job before they can make a name."

Dane laughed. "Man, you're really into all this."

They talked until Ty and Jimmy had to meet their peer group, unaware that the next table had been intently listening the whole time. After they left, Ian turned to Jake and asked, "so what do you say? Want to make some money?"

Jake, though interested in the preceding conversation, had not apparently had the same idea. "What?"

"Oh, come on.... I'm sure we can do better than those fags."

"I dunno, man... sounds like they actually got hurt."

"So, you're afraid, you think you can't take more than those wimps?"

"Shit, all right. I'll at least go check it out with you."

 Ian smiled. "Awesome."

 NHB: Gary vs. "Lenny"

As Central Maryland University began to buzz with the story of Jimmy and Ty's night at JSWA, at another college not far from the fed, Gary was arguing with his friends about which of them was toughest. He thought he was, of course. Then one of his friends pointed to a JSWA poster and told him to prove it. When he had looked over the roster for the night, his friends had goaded him into challenging Lenny. He wasn't sure he had any chance, but asked for the match to be NHB in the hopes that if he could do anything, he might have a shot.

George welcomed the crowd, modestly larger than the first weeks, and began to announce the first match.

"Our first bout tonight features a rookie to pro wrestler taking on one of our most brutal heavies. The challenger has asked that this match be NHB. That means all holds and moves are legal, the ropes do not give any break, and no count outs can occur. However, wrestlers may still be disqualified for bringing foreign objects into the match and for outside interference." George looked to the locker room, and saw Gary ready to emerge. "Our challenger, weighing in at 172 pounds.... GARY!" The audience liked Gary and welcomed him warmly. George continued, "and his opponent... a tower of power, a mountain of mean, at 382 pounds, LENNY!" Lenny got a less favorable reaction, as most in the audience felt bad for Gary. The big pro came to the ring in a blue singlet in which he looked enormous. Gulping down his fear, Gary looked at his friends in the audience. He took some comfort in the sorry expressions on their faces.

The bell rang, and both wrestlers moved to the middle of the ring. Gary was only five inches shorter than Lenny, but looked like a kid next to the hulking heavyweight. Lenny extended a hand for Gary to shake. After a minute of hesitation, he did - and instantly wished he hadn't. Lenny pulled Gary forward and shoulder blocked him, sending the lightweight to one knee on the mat. Lenny pulled Gary into a headlock and cranked it on, grinding the rookie's head into his side. Gary tried to get free, pulling and twisting and beating at Lenny, but the big man had him tight. Finally, Gary managed to shove the heavy, pushing Lenny into the ropes. Gary tried to dropkick Lenny, but the heavy held onto the ropes and Gary connected with nothing but the mat. Bouncing off the ropes, Lenny slammed an elbow down on Gary's side. The lightweight rolled to his back, twisting. He saw Lenny hit the ropes for something else and heaved himself out of the way, moving just in time to avoid a leg drop aimed at his head. Gary got to his feet and neck snapped Lenny, sending the audience into hysterics. Lenny's head whipped forward and then slammed back to the mat. Gary leapt on and tried to hook a leg, but Lenny easily threw him off at two. The rookie got up, thinking fast how to wear this huge guy down. When Lenny got to his knees, Gary drop kicked him in the back and he slammed back to the mat.

The rookie moved into hyperspeed, dropping a flurry of elbows and legs across his big opponent. Lenny seemed little fazed by each blow, but the continued flurry kept him down. After one last elbow off the second turnbuckle, Gary rolled Lenny onto his back, took his ankles and tried to wrap the pro's legs up in a figure-four. He got the hold all wrong, though, and Lenny capitalized by driving his size 14 boot right into the lightweight's crotch. Gary fell like a ton of bricks, rolling on the mat as Lenny got to his feet. When Lenny had shaken his head clear, Gary was still on his back, holding his nuts. "You wanted NHB," he said, as he pulled the rookie to his feet. Gary shot a fist into Lenny's gut, but it had no effect. Then, as Lenny bent to lift Gary for a slam, the jobber tried to go low, but missed. Lenny picked Gary up and then powerslammed him to the mat. When the big man moved, Gary remained on the mat, severely winded. Lenny now took Gary's ankles, and stomped down again into the rookie's crotch. Then again, and again, and again. When Lenny let Gary's ankles go, the collegian balled up, moaning as he rocked on the mat and cradled his busted balls. Lenny worked the crowd "THIS is what he wanted!" He splashed down onto the rookie who was still on his side.

Lenny leaned back on his knees and flattened the jobber out on his back. He hooked a leg, and George counted. 1-2- just before three, with a monumental effort, Gary got a shoulder up off the mat. Lenny got up, pulled the rookie to his feet, and whipped him face-first into the corner. Gary's chest slammed against the top turnbuckle and was then crushed against it as Lenny followed with a full body block. The heavy stepped back and Gary remained in the corner, hanging by his arms over the top rope. Lenny took hold of the middle rope and began driving his shoulder into Gary's lower back over and over again. As the ropes were legal, George didn't count, and Lenny kept pounding the kid's back until he fell from the ropes to a heap on the mat in the corner. The heavy grabbed a handful of Gary's singlet and used it to slide him under the bottom rope. Then Lenny stepped on that rope, his weight driving it down across Gary's windpipe. There Lenny remained, as Gary kicked and flailed and tried in vain to breathe. When Lenny finally let up, Gary rolled to his side and wheezed for breath.

The audience began chanting "Gary! Gary! Gary!" but soon gave up when Lenny stepped out through the ropes and dropped a leg across the rookie's face, which snapped his head back against the apron. Lenny pulled Gary out to the floor and crotch lifted him. Then he slammed the kid's back into the support poles. As George wasn't counting, Lenny took his time. He yelled at the crowd as he cracked Gary's lower back across the pole three, four, five times. When Lenny dropped Gary, he arched up on the ground, holding his aching back. So, Lenny stepped over the boy and butt-stomped his gut, flattening Gary out before flat-out vertical splashing onto his chest. Lenny pulled the kid up again and drove his head into the steel guard rail. Then he clamped one hand around the rookie's throat, and one onto the poor guy's crotch, and gorilla pressed Gary over his head for a minute before dropping him across the guard rail. Gary was helplessly dazed, winded and hurt when Lenny pulled him back up off the floor and rolled him back into the ring.

As Lenny climbed the stairs and stepped through the ropes, Gary shocked everyone by starting to pull himself up. Again, the chant of "GARY! GARY!" began as the rookie got first to his hands and knees, and then grabbed the ropes to pull himself up further. Lenny saw this and hurried a bit, moving in on the jobber and kicking him hard in the side. Gary lost his grip and fell against the ropes. The heavy planted a foot on Gary's throat and pressed him by it into the ropes. Again, Gary was choking and wheezing under Lenny's girth until the heavy let up and pulled him to his feet. He lifted the rookie again in a gorilla press above his head, and displayed him to the audience before dropping him on the mat. Gary landed face-down and Lenny splashed onto him. The heavy rolled Gary over and again hooked a leg for a pin. AGAIN, after two, Gary got a shoulder up. Now Lenny was done. He looked out at the audience and pulled his thumb across his throat. He pulled Gary back up to his feet and whipped him into the ropes. When the rookie rebounded, Lenny clamped a big hand around his neck and choke slammed him to the mat. Then he pulled him up again, planted his head between his legs, and pedigreed him, planting the jobber's forehead on the mat under Lenny's full girth. The big man rolled Gary over and he was out. So, the final, off-the-ropes splash across Gary's chest wasn't really needed for an easy 1-2-3 after fourteen minutes of action.

George lifted Lenny's arm in victory and then roused Gary. Lenny lifted Gary's arm, and both retreated to the locker room.

Jake vs. Phil

Jake had not been eager to come with Ian to JSWA, though he had to be talked into wrestling. The short, blond wrestler had insisted it would be fun. Still, Jake was nervous. He had never wrestled before, at all. And he certainly didn't like having to take on a bigger, probably more experienced guy. So, he chose to challenge Phil, whose stats seemed to promise less pain than the heavies. Ian had teased him for the choice, but he was fine with it. He thought Ian was insane. It was bad enough that the kid was trash-talking Ty, who had been through so much last week. Jake thought it far crazier to try and do better. Still, he thought, Ty was fine, I guess Ian will be. And me too. With this in mind, as George announced him ("A lightweight, at 165 pounds, JAKE!"), Jake walked to the ring. It felt strange to be in front of so many people, in just the tight little singlet he had been given.

Next, George introduced his opponent. "And from the cruiserweight division, weighing in at 193 pounds, PHIL!" Everyone applauded Phil as he came to the ring. He had challenged Ty, but Dozer, an experienced pro, was already taking on the intrepid lightweight. Then he had received a challenge from Jake, and accepted. He'd work his way to Ty if he had to. The bell rang, and the wrestlers met at the center of the ring. They shook hands, and began to circle, feeling each other out. This looked to be one of the most competitive matches of the night, given the mere thirty-pound weight disadvantage. Yet Phil would prove he had quite the heel streak. As they moved in to lock up, the cruiser faked Jake out with a grab at his legs, and then slammed a forearm into the lightweight's face. Jake stumbled back to the ropes, and Phil followed, grabbing an arm and whipping him across the ring. Jake hit the opposite ropes and bounced back toward an attempted clothesline, which he ducked. He bounced off the ropes again, and ran right into a double-fist blow to his gut. Jake flipped over and landed hard on his back on the mat.

Phil lifted an elbow, but before he could drop it on the rookie's chest, Jake had rolled away. As Phil nursed his hurt side and elbow, Jake got to his feet and waited, keeping himself carefully behind Phil. When the cruiser turned to face him, Jake took off, and clotheslined Phil to the mat. The audience cheered as Jake hit the ropes and then nailed Phil with an elbow to the chest. As he got up for another, though, the cruiser rolled to the ropes. George made Jake stay back while Phil got to his feet. Again, they squared off, circling in the ring. This time, when they went to lock up, Phil surprised the lightweight with a hard, fast fist to his gut. Jake doubled over and Phil moved fast, swinging a leg up over the kid's head and then driving it to the mat. Phil got up and Jake rolled over onto his back, dazed. Phil grabbed Jake's ankles, stepped through his legs and turned him over into a sharpshooter. The haze evaporated as pain shot through Jake's legs and back. He looked around and his stomach sank when he saw he was in the middle of the ring. Nonetheless, he tried to crawl, pulling himself with all his might toward the ropes. Very slowly, he began dragging Phil back toward the ropes. Before the lightweight could get there, though, Phil released the hold. He pulled Jake to his feet and then snap- clotheslined him back to the mat.

The cruiserweight hooked a leg and attempted a pin, but Jake kicked out at two. So, Phil pulled him back up and whipped him into the ropes. Jake managed to reverse an attempted armbar, and sent Phil onto his back. The cruiser was right back up, though, and charged Jake, spearing him to the mat. After a moment of struggling for control, Phil situated himself on Jake's back and pulled his chin back in a camel clutch. Jake tried to roll and squirm out, but Phil planted a knee in his back, and pulled him back even harder against the knee. Jake resisted submission, though, for three minutes until Phil released him. As Jake rolled on the mat in pain, Phil grabbed a leg, twisted it and then twisted Jake into a single-leg Boston. As Phil lifted the leg, he kept twisting the kid's foot further and further. This, Jake could not resist. After twelve minutes in the ring, he submitted.
